ivy encased in ice

We got some freezing rain on January 6th. Here it's completely encased some ivy that is growing next to the psychology building on 6th street across from the Espresso Royale.

The way the leaves are completely encased in the thick layer of ice, and the clack sound they make when moving around, remind me of nothing so much as those jade trees my parents have at their place, they are little tree sculptures where the truck is wire and the leaves are pieces of jade - stiff, and they make a nice cold clacking noise when you move them around.
