Using the Lessons Page
Mallard course materials and quizzes are accessible to students through
the Lessons Page. A course director may arrange these materials in lessons
or within groups of lessons ("books").
Typically, each quiz on the Lessons Page has an associated duedate and
time, displayed next to it. A lesson's duedate is automatically computed
to be the earliest duedate of a quiz within it - among those quizzses not
yet completed.
Each quiz may also have an icon displayed next to it, to remind the
student of her progress. For instance, a quiz completed perfectly could
have a gold star. A quiz "passed" but with a grade of less than 100% might
have a checkmark, etc. A lesson will display an icon to illustrate the
student's progress within that lesson.
Each lesson page entry can be:
- Available - available materials are accessible by students.
- Under construction - a construction icon indicates that the associated
quiz (or lesson or course material) is accessible to staff but not to
students. Students will, however, see the construction sign and realize
that that element exists.
- Invisible - accessible by staff but students do not even see that it
exists.
Every visible (available or under construction) quiz that is on the
Lessons Page also has an entry in the Mallard gradebook.
