Displaying and Searching the Mallard Roster
Display Roster
You may choose to look at the roster for any
section or for
all sections. And you may choose to select only students whose last names
begin
with e.g. the letter "M". The roster will display, in alphabetical
order by last name, the following
information for all selected students: login, name, section, access level,
other field, and student ID.
Within the roster table, each login name provides links to more detailed
information about the selected student. Clicking on the "rmartin" link for
Reed
Martin will pop up a window consisting of links to the following Reed Martin
specific activities:
- A form to modify some of Reed Martin's roster information.
- A form to allow the course director to reset Reed's password
(e.g. if he has forgotten his original password).
- Delete Reed Martin from the course.
- Lock Reed out of the course, thereby blocking his access. This
can be useful if Reed has not paid his course fees or if the professor
has an urgent need to speak with him. If Reed attempts to access this
Mallard course, he will see a message informing him to speak with his
course director.
- Send email to Reed.
- View Reed's Mallard grades.
- Modify Reed's Mallard grades.
- View Reed's grades in the Course Gradebook.
- Modify Reed's grades in the Course Gradebook.
Search for Users by Name
You may display a roster consisting of preicsely those students whose names
match the
specified string. For instance, a search for users matching Ma*
will produce roster listings for all users whose first names start with Ma...
(Mary, Maiko, etc.) or whose last names start with Ma... (Martin, Maloney,
etc.) or even users with middle names starting with Ma...
This feature is useful for pulling up information about a specific student.
Search for Users by "Other" Field
The "Other" field can serve whatever purpose(s) you wish. For instance, you
might wish to list the major of each student. In that case, you could pull
up a roster consisting of all students with the word "mathematics" in the
Other field.
