Basic Course Information

Course Name:

Should be something like Intro to Spanish as opposed to just SPAN102

Course ID/Alias:

This is where you use the SPPAN102. This gets tacked on to the URL e.g https://mallard.scale.uiuc.edu/SPAN102

The default setting should be ok.

Default E-mail Domain:

If users don't specifiy a prefered email address under user config. This gets appended to their mallard login. For U of I C-U it's uiuc.edu. Don't include the @. Mallard will then take (login)@(default_email_domain) eg groppe@uiuc.edu

Note: Omitting the default e-mail domain will cause it to default at runtime to the value in the server configuration file.

Course Personnel Information

If filled in these two users are automatically added to the course. The are also automatically added to the Mail Staff page.

Mallard Homepage Link Parameters

These control the second row of icons in the student section on the course homepage. Taditionaly they point to a newsgroup or some other conferening system and a course sylabus. They can point to any thing. The newsgroup icon is also placed on the left margin icon bar.

These icons are placed next to graded responces. Users can choose to not have them displayed by using the User Config link on the course homepage. They are primarily inteded for users who are red/green color blind. You can make your own. They must be placed in $mallard_home/docs/images/icons There are no size restrictions.
